How does the design consultation process work?

We bring the showroom to you. We visit your home to measure your windows and let you look at samples in your actual lighting. This is crucial because colors look different in your living room than they do in a store. We help you choose the right product, give you a price on the spot, and there is zero pressure to buy right then.

Do you use your own installers or sub it out?

We use our own trained installation team, no random subcontractors. Our installers are specialists in our products, work professionally, and leave your space clean when they're done.

Is there a charge for the estimate?

No, our estimates are completely free. We provide in-home consultations at no cost, giving you accurate measurements and personalized recommendations with no obligation.

How long does it take from ordering to installation?

It depends on the product. Some shades can be ready in a couple of weeks, while custom plantation shutters might take a bit longer to fabricate. We will give you a transparent timeline during your consultation so you know exactly when to expect us.

Turn Your Patio Into a Year-Round Retreat

Harbor Bluffs sits right in Pinellas County’s coastal sun belt, so heat gain and UV fading are real problems for open patios and lanais. Our screens fix that fast. They cut glare, drop temperatures, and shield your furniture from fading. Our team handles installation from power planning to final testing, so everything seals tight and runs perfectly from day one. You get comfort, style, and control that fits how you live outdoors.

Built for Coastal Sun and Gulf-Coast Wind Standards

Living near the Gulf brings intense sun and unpredictable weather year-round. Our exterior retractable screens in Harbor Bluffs, FL, are built to handle both, meeting the 130 to 140 mph coastal wind standards required in Pinellas County. They block harsh UV rays, reduce heat on your patio, and hold firm when storms roll in, so your outdoor living space stays protected and usable no matter the season.

Screen Options for Every Outdoor Need

Every porch and lanai has its own needs, so we offer screen options built to match. At Sapphire Shades and Shutters, our retractable patio screens in Harbor Bluffs come in sunscreen and insect-control fabrics. We also offer hurricane-rated screens that stand up to Gulf Coast storms, while sunscreen options cut heat and UV exposure. Each style turns your outdoor spaces into a comfortable, usable extension of your home all year.

You Have Control and Power Options

Our motorized exterior screens in Harbor Bluffs run on Somfy and Motion Blinds systems, giving you smooth operation by remote, smartphone app, or voice command. Program them to close automatically during peak heat, strong winds, or rain, and connect them to your smart home. Power options include plug-in 110-volt motors for patios with outlet access and rechargeable lithium-ion motors for spots where wiring is limited.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ron with Sapphire Shades & Shutters was great. We built a new house in Florida and wanted motorized insect screens on the back balcony. Ron came out and measured while the house was still under construction and showed us sample screens, frames, etc. We opted for insect only screens with black tracks to match the house. He also made suggestions on how to hide the motor and cassette that holds the screens at the top.

We contracted with him, but had to wait until the stucco was on the house for him to do final measurements. No problem for Ron. I called him back once the stucco was on and within a couple of days one of his guys came out to do the final measure and they placed the order. I think it was 2-3 weeks to get the screens produced and then they came and installed them. The installer was obviously very knowledgeable and friendly. After install he showed us how to use the remote and how to adjust the screen positioning (if that ever became necessary).

I would totally use Ron and Sapphire Shades again in the future! 5 Stars!

His installer. “Eric” was terrific and got our shades up in no time. So very happy with the outcome and they were very price competitive compared to some big named companies. I’d highly suggest them for your shade needs.
