How does the design consultation process work?

We bring the showroom to you. We visit your home to measure your windows and let you look at samples in your actual lighting. This is crucial because colors look different in your living room than they do in a store. We help you choose the right product, give you a price on the spot, and there is zero pressure to buy right then.

Do you use your own installers or sub it out?

We use our own trained installation team, no random subcontractors. Our installers are specialists in our products, work professionally, and leave your space clean when they're done.

Is there a charge for the estimate?

No, our estimates are completely free. We provide in-home consultations at no cost, giving you accurate measurements and personalized recommendations with no obligation.

How long does it take from ordering to installation?

It depends on the product. Some shades can be ready in a couple of weeks, while custom plantation shutters might take a bit longer to fabricate. We will give you a transparent timeline during your consultation so you know exactly when to expect us.

Smart Control

Retractable Screens Made for Coastal Tierra Verde Comfort

Island living means strong sun, salty air, and afternoon storms that roll in fast. Our screens meet all of it head-on. Sunscreen fabrics block UV rays and cut heat before it reaches your furniture. Insect mesh keeps mosquitoes out during golden hour. Hurricane-rated options stand up to Pinellas County wind standards of 130 to 140 mph. Lower them for cover, raise them for a clear view, and enjoy your patio on your own terms. Every project includes expert professional installation where we handle power planning, test every movement, and seal each screen tight against the elements.

Control That Fits Your Daily Routine

Our exterior retractable screens in Tierra Verde, FL, run on Somfy and Motion Blinds motors, so everyday control is effortless. Tap a remote, open an app, or speak a voice command to raise or lower your motorized screen in seconds. It’s especially handy when your hands are full, or the screen is in a hard-to-reach spot. Enjoy your outdoor living space without ever needing to fuss with manual pulling or cranks.

Smart Automation That Responds to Your Weather

Program your retractable patio screens in Tierra Verde to respond to the weather automatically, closing when afternoon heat peaks, strong winds pick up, or rain moves in. Connect them to your home automation system and build scenes like “Patio Mode” that lower every outdoor treatment at once. With our custom solutions, you can make your screens protect themselves and your space without you lifting a finger.

Wiring, Power, and a Flawless Install

At Sapphire Shades & Shutters, our motorized exterior screens in Tierra Verde come ready for three different power setups. Plug-in 110-volt motors connect to any outdoor outlet. If outlets are hard to reach, lithium-ion rechargeable motors run cleanly without wiring and only need a charge once or twice a year. For a fully integrated look, hardwired 24-volt systems deliver seamless performance but do require a licensed electrician.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ron with Sapphire Shades & Shutters was great. We built a new house in Florida and wanted motorized insect screens on the back balcony. Ron came out and measured while the house was still under construction and showed us sample screens, frames, etc. We opted for insect only screens with black tracks to match the house. He also made suggestions on how to hide the motor and cassette that holds the screens at the top.

We contracted with him, but had to wait until the stucco was on the house for him to do final measurements. No problem for Ron. I called him back once the stucco was on and within a couple of days one of his guys came out to do the final measure and they placed the order. I think it was 2-3 weeks to get the screens produced and then they came and installed them. The installer was obviously very knowledgeable and friendly. After install he showed us how to use the remote and how to adjust the screen positioning (if that ever became necessary).

I would totally use Ron and Sapphire Shades again in the future! 5 Stars!

His installer. “Eric” was terrific and got our shades up in no time. So very happy with the outcome and they were very price competitive compared to some big named companies. I’d highly suggest them for your shade needs.

Areas We Serve

Our work stretches across the barrier islands and the wider Gulf Coast. Beyond Tierra Verde, we help homeowners and businesses in St. Petersburg, Harbor Bluffs, Bradenton, Venice, and nearby communities. Salt air, strong sun, and storm season shape every one of these areas, so we match each screen system to the local climate and code. If you live in the region and want a cooler, bug-free patio, reach out and we’ll bring our full lineup to your door.
