Types of Drapery
While there are easily dozens of different drapery styles, there are seven distinct categories that most fall into. Which one is best for your home will depend on the qualities of your overall design and how much your plan to use your drapes for light control.
Ripple Fold Drapery
This style of drapery is fairly minimalist in design, offering sleek lines. It is highly functional and easy to move, making it a great choice if you plan to open and close your drapes a lot.
Tailored Pleat Drapery
The pleats in this style of drapery give it a fullness that feels warm and elegant. Despite the waterfall pleats, these drapes are still easy to move since they are rigid from the use of buckram stiffener.
Pinch Pleat Drapery
Similar to tailored pleat options, pinch pleat drapery offers fullness and easy operation. However, the pleats are more pronounced, giving them more visual weight.
Inverted Pleat Drapery
With this style, the pleats are more minimalist in design. While there is still some degree of fullness, it feels more relaxed than tailored or pinch pleat drapery. However, it is not ideal for frequent movement.
This style of drapery is excellent for establishing a sophisticated feel thanks to the large goblet pleats. Due to the large stack, it covers more of your windows even when open and is not ideal for frequent movement.
Grommet drapery is a very common design that features grommets at the top, through which the curtain rod is threaded. We can customize the color and finish of the grommets.
Rod Pocket Drapery
With rod pocket drapery, a pocket is sewn into the top of the panel and the curtain rod threaded through it. We can customize the size of the pockets based on the diameter of the rod.
